This Standard specifies the hot-rolled atmospheric corrosion resisting 1) steels par-
ticularly imparted with a high weldability (hereafter referred to as "steel products") to
be used for bridges, building and other structures.
NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the
symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.
ISO 4952 : 2006 Structural steels with improved atmospheric corrosion
resistance (MOD)
The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the con-
tents between JIS and the corresponding International Standard are
IDT (identical), MOD (modified) and NEQ (not equivalent) according to
ISO/IEC Guide 21.
Note 1): The term "atmospheric corrosion resistance" means the protective
characteristics impervious to corrosion when exposed to the amosphere
in the natural environment.
