This Standard specifies general specification of bicycles for general use (hereafter
referred to as "bicycles") defined in JIS D 9111. Those bicycles with electric assist-
ing.mechanism i.e. electric power assist bicycles are excluded from the scope of this
Standard.
Bicycles for general use refer to sports bicycle, city cycle, utility bicycle and chil-
dren bicycle, and the folding or separable type bicycle is included.
NOTE : The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol
of degree of correspondence is as follows.

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents
